His impactful stint with The Mars Volta from 2007 to 2009, featuring albums like « The Bedlam in Goliath » and « Octahedron, » showcased his mastery of intricate rhythms and bold musical expression. With Big Trippin’, which he co-founded, Thomas continues to push musical boundaries across genres. Pridgen’s versatility shines through collaborations spanning jazz, R&B, hip hop, and rock, cementing his reputation as a dynamic force in the music industry. I realized I never did my own personal post about this video, so here I am. This is going to be a long caption. Six years ago, I sat at @milliescafela in Silverlake with @mrjasonaalon and @itshugosaurusrex ; we were making plans for what would become the “Burn It” video for Fever 333. Jason and I had known each other for well over a decade at that point, but we were finally doing a proper project together. Our friendship and creative partnership truly started that day. We have since collaborated on music videos, TV pitches, and projects at @tuff_contender . About a year and a half ago, we started talking about what would become the “New West Order” video. Though we had to scrap it at the time, we came back to the idea a few months ago. Jason’s concept was larger than I could ever figure out how to do on the budget, but I worked diligently to create a plan with him that kept the essence of the idea alive. @matt.hoodhood , who has been one of my best creative partners in the last few years, came on as our director of photography. What was meant to be a two-day shoot turned into us filming scenes for over six days, including a few that I shot and edited myself. I wanted to keep pushing the visual journey of the video, and we did. I’m so proud of this video and the work Jason and I have done together. This video and its release mark the beginning of my new journey as @fever333 ’s manager—a partnership I’ve forged with Jason after first crossing paths at the venue I booked, The Alley, in 2006.
