Introduction time! 🤗👋🏼
We have lots of new faces around here so I figured it might be a good time to introduce myself! I’m Elizabeth, the shop owner over here at Three Littles, and I’m so glad you’re here!
My Three Littles visited Three Littles for the very first time today! 🥹♥️
Many of you know this story, but I was a nanny for many years until the family I nannied for moved to California. I moved with them briefly to help them get settled, but ended up back in DC and with the encouragement of an incredible friend and my family I opened the shop in 2019. Then the pandemic happened and our visits were understandably much less frequent, so until today the boys had never visited my shop despite it being inspired by my time spent with them AND named after them. I was so lucky to be their nanny and I’m even luckier to call them family now. These three might not ever understand how big of an impact they’ve had on my life and I’ll never be able to thank them enough for the many ways they’ve changed my life.
THE ABC’s OF GIVING PARENTING ADVICE
What if I told you giving advice doesn’t have to be mean, judgmental, or rude? I see parenting “advice” in comment sections all the time and it’s shocking how unkind, hurtful, and often incorrect the advice is, but it doesn’t have to be that way ☀️
These are the tips I follow to ensure that I’m not stepping on toes or forcing myself into an unwelcomed conversation:

At the end of the day we’re all doing our best to keep the littles in our life safe ♥️
⚠️ SUMMER HEAT PSA ‼️
I recorded this on a 76° day at 9:30am, the sun was out, but it wasn’t a scorcher of a day, yet each of these car seats reached over 100° and the inside of the covered car seat was almost 50° hotter than the outside temp.
Can you believe how hot these car seats got?! Covering your car seats with car seat covers or muslin blankets turns your child’s car seat into a greenhouse in these hot summer months! It seems like they’re providing shade when in reality they’re trapping your child’s body heat and breath on an already hot environment and limiting all air flow.
At 104° heat stroke begins and at 107° a child dies. It is so important to take adequate breaks from the sun, get a fan, and never cover your child’s car seat.
Information like this is never meant to shame, it’s only meant to educate and help spread awareness. Knowledge is power and when we know better we do better ☀️ shoutout to @safeintheseat for the inspiration for this reel and for always sharing safety tips!

Nuna carriage mode is SO cool and a great way to be able to use a stroller as a from-birth option without a true bassinet. Of course it’s not replacing a traditional overnight sleep safe bassinet, but being able to use the stroller without having to use a car seat or true bassinet is a great benefit! Three Littles is so much more than just a baby store. For five whole years we have been laughing, crying, venting, worrying, and growing together. I consider getting to know you and your families the greatest gift of my life. Watching your kids grow up and witnessing you grow as parents, partners, and people is the most wonderful adventure and one I never take for granted.
Thank you for sharing all the good, bad, and ugly with me and for trusting Three Littles to be a space that you can be yourself in! I promise to keep providing an environment where everyone feels loved and welcome, and all you have to do is keep showing up and letting me ♥️

This ALWAYS surprises people!
People often come into the shop and say “my child LOVES toys like this, but they’re only 3 and the box says 4+, is it unsafe?” Not necessarily! Many children’s toys have an age marker for the age of ideal enjoyment AND a warning label and sometimes the ages are different! Always keep your eyes peeled for safety labels and warning, not just age markers.
