THINK ABOUT IT THURSDAY’S “Bullying” Bullying is a repeated aggressive behavior intended to hurt another person, physically or mentally, & with the purpose of gaining power over the person being targeted. Over 3.2Mil. kids are victims of bullying each year. 7/10 felt that bullying negatively effected their social lives. 83% of victims felt that bullying really hurt their self esteem 30% of victims have turned to self harming behaviors & suicidal thoughts. 7% have started bullying others as a result of their own torment. 10% have attempted to take their own lives. Research indicates that persistent bullying can lead to worsen feelings of isolation & rejection, exclusion & despair, as well as depression & anxiety, which can contribute to suicidal behavior I am a victim. I was bullied by a peer, my own age. I have now experienced 4 months of cyber bulling by her family, friends & grown adults who didn’t like that I used my voice, along side all the other girls that had also reported been bullied by the same person. Regardless of recorded devices, multiple encounters, clear evidence, several families complaints & written reports stating back to months prior to my incident, of other children being bullied by the same girl, the bullying somehow continues. Result: I’m getting smarter, stronger & sharper. I choose to help others. I want victims to know, they are not alone. Had myself & another victim never opened up to each other, we would’ve never known that we were both being bullied by the same person. I will always stand up to bullies & be there for anyone being bullied. I will never tolerate someone being unkind to someone else in my presence. I am about love, joy, equality & bettering this world. I am about helping, healing, empowering, inspiring. I pray for those that are hurting & need to try to break others down to feel better about themselves. I won’t be broken. This year I got more than a crown. I became part of a pageant sisterhood. I am so grateful for becoming part of this supportive community of strong and beautiful women. I had no idea how amazing the pageant journey would be. At first I was overwhelmed on learning how to walk the runway in five inch heels, how to put on earrings and contact lenses with long finger nails, and how to get my hair and makeup to last a whole day in hot weather and stage lights. What I came away with was an increased sense of confidence, a greater purpose to promote my platform of Healthy Living for Healthy Aging, and the best friends and sisters that anyone could imagine. I always like sharing the health benefits of different aspects of our lives, so here are the health benefits of friendship: 🤲Emotional Support - friends are always there for support whether they are just listening to your problems or helping you forget about the problem 🤩Studies have shown that friends can improve our health and longevity. Older people with friends are more likely to live a healthier, happier life than those who do not have many close friends 💪Improve your self-confidence and self-worth - If you feel depressed, a good friend will be there to cheer you up and get your confidence back up 👍Good influence - Good friends can encourage you to change or avoid unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as excessive drinking or lack of exercise I am now a big supporter of pageants and strongly encourage you to explore entering a pageant especially if you have a cause that you’d like to support at a higher level. In 2017, Rice became the State Director of @misscaliforniaus As a Director/ Pageant Coach, she has helped a handful of girls/women capture the crown of both State & National Titles. In 2020, Rice made pageantry history by helping 3 of her state titleholders become national titleholders. Coached by Tara Rice, I was honored the National crown at the 2021 @theunitedstatespageants 🇺🇸 Tara’s goal as a Pageant Director is to inspire girls & women to become leaders in their communities & advocates for their platforms. In 2019 & 2020, she was awarded Best State Pageant Director by @pageantplanet where pageantry professionals reviewed all pageants in the USA. In 2021, Tara graced a 6 page layout in Viva Glam magazine & was named a Top 25 influencer in LA featured in the LA Entrepreneur Magazine. In addition, Rice is an actress, model, host & producer.
