whewww!!😮💨 what a journey it was to get here... all of the ups and downs we’ve experienced in the last 8 months of our home search somehow makes this moment even sweeter!!
the words below were written into my wedding vows because there is just as much truth in them today as we close on our first home together as there was there was uncertainty when I was writing them wondering when this day would come.
“we’ve experienced the immense high of building our dream home together, and then the extreme disappointment watching it all fall through. but it was never really about the house because wherever I get to live with you WILL be my dream home.” 🤍
there is already so much peace and excitement about this house! we can’t wait to host our out-of-town family, throw celebrations for our friends, lead small groups, and begin to grow our family within these four walls.

Today we are traveling to our first wedding as a married couple! It will be difficult to take my eyes off @brookelaurentrice as she is going to be such a gorgeous bride, but I’ll always be watching the groom’s reaction to seeing his future wife walking down the aisle. Melts me into a puddle every time! 😭🫠 The photos of Chris standing there waiting for me resurface all my emotions of those 20-something steps. 🤍
To be honest, I never really wanted to be a bride... I always dreamed about being a wife, but walking down the aisle in a white dress didn’t seem very authentic to *me*. Getting caught up in the little details and missing the big moment can be a slippery slope and I had a vision of eloping to avoid all the stress that comes with planning a once-in-a-lifetime type of day. It was most important to me to prepare for the marriage, not the wedding. But marriage is about compromise 😅 and it was really important to Chris that we exchange vows in front of our loved ones.
With the wedding now being a month from today I’ve realized how far a little celebration goes. Between engagement parties, bridal showers, and my bachelorette weekend, I’ve truly never felt more celebrated and encouraged in my life. I’m feeling very thankful that I didn’t skip out on these moments just for the sake of staying in my comfort zone.
My ~bridal era~ is coming to an end soon and I want to say thank you to everyone who has showed up for me, and us as a couple! Chris and I aren’t doing a formal bridal party but if we were, these girls (+ a few not pictured) all deserve a spot up there next to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🥹🫶🏼
Highlight of the weekend was celebrating this mama-to-be!! 🧸🍼 Livv - it’s increased my faith watching you step into this phase of life that you and Ryan have fervently prayed for. You have a natural gift when it comes to children and it’s undeniable that your maternal instinct is already so strong. I know that you will be the best mom to this miracle baby!! Selfishly hoping that he or she decides to come a day early so we can share a birthday!🤪🫶🏼
Said yes to the most important outfit I’ll ever wear! 👰🏼♀️✔️ Feeling so blessed to have the most supportive friends and mother, who cheered me on and hyped me up through the entire process.
