Yesterday I met a really nice guy on the phone through a recommendation @tiki_js . We discussed how he was making a project for his friend @tikirob who recently passed. Sometimes you have the time to help (hopefully), and contribute … I drew this for him, great person, lamp maker. Give @tiki_js a follow!!!
I built The Manini Bar on my lanai to mainly clear up the cupboard space in the kitchen from all the bottles of RuM.. That was back in 2013 and it became so much than just a stash spot.. so many great memories, so many great stories, so many bottles of RUM!!😂 Wish I had more pictures of everyone that visited it and had a cocktail over the last decade.. Today I had to tear it all down.. New chapter begins soon here on Maui, maybe even a new Manini Bar??!! Cheers🍹🤙🏼

Just like any other good beachcomber, we always make sure to scour the shorelines for anything that comes ashore to repurpose for decoration in the bar! And today was quite the haul! 😌🏝️
Aside from the usual coconuts, ship wreckage, sea life, and human remains; there was something a bit special that floated ashore! 😯🥥💀
But this is by no means your usual flotsam and jetsam! This is a true treasure! Straight from the Kona coast! From the workshop of @tiki_js himself! It’s our Big Marq mug lamp! 🥳💡🗿
When Jason approached us asking to turn our mug into one of his amazing lamps, it was like a dream come true! 😌
To have Big Marq immortalized in lamp form was a honor to us! And a huge milestone in our creative endeavors!
And just look at him! Our big man shining brightly with that custom lamp shade and pull string! 😍
Some truly amazing work from Jason! And a must have for any tiki enthusiast and mug collector!
We can’t thank Jason enough for this, but Mahalo Nui Loa to you brother! We absolutely love him! 🥰
We’ll be sending more Marqs to him in the future, so keep an eye out on his page for upcoming lamps and other amazing mugs lamps! 😁

The entire process of shipping my mug to him, fabric choice and receiving my perfectly packed lamp was seamless. Start to finish was only a couple of weeks! A great guy, a fantastic artist and a juggernaut of a mug maker. I was stoked to work together on some projects, and will fondly remember our brief time together on the Big Island with @kenruzic@doug_horne_art@tikipop and @tiki_js , especially our art jam at the place of refuge and cliff diving into the blue pacific at Jason’s secret spot. God Speed brother.
