Here’s another look at our banana dolphin tiki mug “Flipper Sipper”. This mug was inspired by the iconic Banana Dolphin garnish. Tiki cocktails are known for their elaborate and often over the top garnishes, but none is more iconic than this!
This kitschy mug features half of a banana cut to resemble a dolphin, with fins, and cloves for eyes. The stem of the banana is cut to resemble a mouth, that is fit with a maraschino cherry.
This ceramic tiki mug is about 6.75 inches tall, and holds about 16oz.

Last night, before we headed off to see the LA premiere of @thedonnoftiki , a documentary about Donn Beach aka Don the Beachcomber, we visited @theluckytiki - the “sorta” newest tiki bar in SoCal. Why “sorta”? Because this is the second incarnation of the bar; the original closed more than 20 years ago due to property issues and is now back! @theluckytiki is one of @bobbygreendesign and @1933group ’s great establishments along with @theformosa and @idlehour .
This tiki speakeasy is hidden upstairs above @tailothepup , in the location where @thedoors recorded L.A. Woman.
They’ve got a great menu of tiki cocktails, as well as some traditional tiki eats. For the most part, reservations are highly recommended as this place has been packed since it opened and has limited seating.

Here’s a little sneak peek of a new colorway in our Crowded Hut tiki mug. We’re actually working on 2 new colorways! The mugs you see here are awaiting their first kiln firing, so the colors will be much more vibrant when the mug is complete. This mug was designed by @kenruzic and sculpted by @tom_thordarson_thor . Ken and Thor have been good pals for a long time so it was fun to see how Thor brought his friend’s artwork to life.
These are being made start to finish in our Southern California studios. Stay turned for release info coming in a few weeks.
