Co-presented with @QueensMuseum and @Artnet , and guest curated by Nato Thompson of Dreaming in Public [@dreaming_in_public ], Brambilla’s work assembles a new configuration of human wonderment through non-human AI technologies. Reimagined from archival imagery of past historic World Expositions, this idealized speculation presents an imagined future filled with the possibility of a meaningful, peaceful life and civilization. The Times Square presentation of ‘Approximations of Utopia’ coincides with the Queens Museum’s celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair, titled ‘Peace Through Understanding’ with #WorldsFair60 a multi-platform digital initiative and forthcoming series of exhibitions to open November 2024 at the museum. Artnet’s co-presentation of Brambilla’s Midnight Moment marks the second iteration of an ongoing partnership with Times Square Arts that celebrates digital art in the heart of New York City. Everything you need to know about the iconic Father Duffy statue in the ❤️ of #TimesSquare 🌟 The Father Duffy statue first found a home in Times Square in 1937, five years after the passing of Father Francis Duffy.
