The incredible @marcjfranklin who took my favorite ever SPONGEBOB pics of me, has done it again! - I love his eye and energy and sense of play - thank you, Marc!!! And these photos express EXACTLY how I felt about the night on which they were taken: the opening of CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL @pac_nyc - WOW! BAM! YASSSSSSSSS! What joy and affirmation - what a sense of deep legacy and honor paid to the elders - what a beautiful (and necessary) reframing - what COMMUNITY - what dance and moves and friggin' 10,000 fabulous light cues (by @itsadamhonore !!) - congrats to directors Bill Rauch and @zhailon (Levingston) on the vision they shared and the care they took and the love they poured into this event - it's called "doing it RIGHT," and on so many levels. Brava to the entire company for bringing it all to and leaving it all on the floor for us - and with us. Let's bang around some balloons and celebrate!!! #catsthejellicleball

MOTHER PLAY was the gift of a lifetime for me - and for so many who experienced it. Thank you to my most treasured Paula @indecent17 for EVERYthing, to Carole Rothman and everyone at @2stnyc for giving us a safe and supportive home, to my collaborators and friends for life @celiakb @therealjimparsons and Jessica Lange for sharing their boundless hearts and wicked humor and ceaseless invention, to my rock @kennethferrone for being the greatest Associate Director imaginable, to the design team of @misterdavidzinn @jen.schriever @tonilesliej , @matthewb_armentrout , Shawn Duan, Jill DuBoff, @juiceboxandy for the glorious world they made, and @cgattelli and @vinnydeponto and Gigi Buffington for sharing their magic and expertise, and to our ace SM team of John Moore, Bryan Bauer, and Zach Brecheen for keeping us calm and laughing and keeping the ship running smoothly, to ALL the beautiful souls on our crew and the staff at the Helen Hayes for bringing their light and spirit to the work, and to our audiences, and also to everyone I'm forgetting - just THANK YOU. Sometimes folks take big risks - like Paula, like Carole (Rothman) - and lay their souls bare on a stage (like Paula, like Jessica, Celia and Jim) and are recognized for it and that is very very nice.
