This painting, from my private collection, by one of Canada's most important artist ever Norval Morrisseau (RCA 1931-2007) is currently for sale by Auction as of today until May 29th at Waddington's Auction House - Canadian Fine Art. This year one of his paintings sold for $300K. This is a GREAT investment as we started the bids low. I started investing and collecting art in my teens, and I bought this one in 1990 at a 'sold out' show the Artist attended. It's an opportunity to own a legendary painters original art, that will escalate in value every year. I used to LOVE Flickr. It was once an amazing site inhabited by true Artist Photographers. It's where I spent endless hours studying photos and learning by - analyzing - studying - practicing - being inspired to take photos. I became friends with wildly talented photographers from around the world (some super famous & some under-ground geniuses and stars) - and started posting my own work. There was a community - a camaraderie and we all connected - shared techniques - made long deeply thought out creative comments - and we encouraged each other every day ... It was Nirvana for Photographers... and then it was sold to one of those huge companies you know - and they blocked us- banned us- restricted the best of us - and our Wonderful World-Wide Artistic Community fell apart over-night. We all dispersed and nothing like it has evolved since. I looked back at my Flickr site today for the first time in over a year and it gave me a bitter-sweet smile to see that my Photography and my 'IN THE TUB' series has continued on with a life of it's own and has had 50,000,000+ Views.
