••• This is the original @dohertysgym in Union St Brunswick. circa April 1994. 30 years today and I’m overwhelmed and emotional thinking about all the lives that we have impacted and changed for the better. . This is where I slept on the couch when I was broke for the first year. I worked every single day with no staff and no wages. Had the power cut off more times than I could count . I opened this with $250,000 of old debt, no education no staff and no idea how it would work . All I owned was a rice cooker, a vertical grill, a second hand couch and a garbage bag full of worn clothes • I had a truck load of broken equipment, some pictures and a huge dream • I just knew that I could outwork, outlast and outsmart anyone or anything I faced. I knew that I could not quit no matter what or it would engulf me • There were countless times where I felt like quitting and it looked like the best option. However I never could and never did. • We still have members from that first year that made our gym their home away from home. • I will share lots of stories and memories this month of our 30 years of service and struggles. • Thanks to everyone that has been a part of this journey. • I still feel like pinching myself every day to remind myself of how far we have come. • I still jump out of bed every day, excited to go to work to do what I love. I am grateful for every single moment that got us this far. • It still feels like I’m the luckiest bloke in the world.

Due to scheduling conflicts we have now decided to host Season B as a ONE show format in Melbourne on Sunday July 21st. This is a Qualifying Show for Season C Australian Nationals and any Worldwide Pro Qualifier in the remainder of 2024. Posing Workshop Announcement to follow! . Annual trip to New York all done. The highlight is always getting to hang out with Steve Weinberger at @bevsgym The show itself was one of the best ever across all the classes. Doing all the interviews for @npcnewsonlineofficialpage is so much fun, we got some great content with the 9 Pro winners. Here are some favourite candid shots. . Annual trip to Pittsburgh done and dusted. Pittsburgh is one of my favourite US cities. Headquarters of @ifbb_pro_league and home of our President Jim Manion. It is ways great to catch up with everyone at this unique event. Doing all the interviews for @npcnewsonlineofficialpage is so much fun, we got some great content with the Pro winners, the guest posers, champions and coaches that came to support the show. The coffees, drinks and dinners are always the highlight of the trip. Thanks to Jim, J.M, Tyler and the whole Manion family for making us so welcome. Here are some candid shots from around the show. . When it’s all said and done, I am just a travelling showman that loves his job as an entertainer with a microphone. Fronting for an incredible team of talented individuals that devote their days and nights to the sport that we all love. Some days I stand at my lectern for 8 hours straight. Always in awe of the resilience and grit that it takes each athlete to walk on to my stage to perform. Witnessing lives changing before my eyes. Feeling the highs and lows of the audience. Feeling waves of emotions sweeping through the venue. Together we laugh till it hurts and occasionally we cry together as one. Fighting back tears as a story that has to be heard is told. Our team has grown from a small crew to a small army. Each person plays an invaluable role in making our production look seamless. Partners, judges, backstage team, expiditors, tanners, DJs, makeup artists, media pack, my office team, award presenters, venue staff, security and volunteers.
