Three year old Jalil Naidoo has undergone surgery, 48 hours after he was mauled by a dog at his home in Barrackpore. Anxious parent, Rennie Jagbandansingh, while he waited on word of his son’s surgery on Tuesday, recounted the incident that happened on Sunday. He said the child was at home with his mother and younger brother. He’s also concerned that the dog is still roaming the area.

Chairman of the Urban Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT), Noel Garcia, is refuting claims by the Opposition that the cost to refurbish the Prime Minister’s official residence in Blenheim, Tobago went from $25 million to $63 million. Oropouche East MP Dr. Roodal Moonilal called for a public enquiry last week into alleged cost overruns. But in a Media Conference today, Mr. Garcia said the project was a construction project and rubbished the Opposition’s claims of cost overruns. Similar allegations were made by Opposition Senator Wade Mark. Mr. Garcia maintained the project, from Day One, was a construction of a residence for the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago.
