since it’s the holidays and I wanna spend time with my family a bit this week, we are closed @tuktuksnackshop until Friday, 7/5. HOWEVER. We will also be making tomato pies for PICKUP featuring @susanmiller1939 ’s tomatoes from @blacksoilky — order at the link in my bio.

When I first got the chance to cook alongside @chefpmistry in 2019, I was beyond excited. Preeti made major waves in California with their restaurant Juhu Beach Club (and Navi Kitchen!) and has been, well, all over the place. (Random bonus that event was getting to cook for @chefjoseandres to boot). From @partsunknowncnn to @wafflesandmochiofficial to @bravotopchef - Preeti’s presence has made paths for more visibility for underrepresented chefs from all walks. More importantly though, over the years Preeti has become a very dear friend - one that I’ve been able to bounce ideas (and frustrations) off with honesty and ease. Preeti is fearless in speaking up and out, and that is something we all could embrace a bit more of. I am SO excited to host them in @thesnackeasy this weekend - reservations for Sunday are moving fast so get that Resy sorted ASAP. Cannot wait to introduce the Bluegrass to Preeti - and as an added bonus, our friends from @bardstownbourbonco and Amrut Whiskey will be on the table with a welcome pour for this event. Don’t miss this one. It’ll be special. 💙.

decided to burn some frequent flyer miles for a big day off in boston. almost missed my super early flight (I will never ever take the lex airport for granted. love u) and headed straight to lunch with @anne_saurus , which led to many many many dinner goodies from @jamiebiss and team @somaekboston (also absolutely love that biss’s mother in law gets chef credit on the menu. wonder if mombot would be amenable to that?). cannot wait to try more goodness next trip up. paid a small visit to the @realbillrussell statue as i walked over to the garden for a very important basketball game, and patience was well well well rewarded. even got to see @karalis44 (fun fact - before he was NBA writer fancy he emcee’d our wedding) 16 years ago @jambot5k and i caught confetti in the garden for banner 17, last night i added a little more to the collection for 18. bonus lovely exchange with @henrylouisgates as i was walking out, and straight back out to Kentucky after morning hangs with @anne_saurus and @dart_adams - back in time to catch the @tuktuksnackshop crew making our diners happy and me proud. grateful. excellent day off. would do again.

thank you to @bs_pitmaster for an absolutely amazing weekend pop up featuring smoked meats, tasty sides and so much laughing. Grateful he took the time to teach my crew about the wonderful world of BBQ - Atlanta area - his spot opens up soooooon so go get your fix. The shop is closed Wednesday in observance of Juneteenth so Thursday we may whip out a few tricks we learned from our pop up smoked meats guru. . . . Later this month (6.29) @thesnackeasy is hosting @chefpmistry and I can’t wait to see them again (photo’d with the lovely @megcgallery ). Reservations live on Resy soon! the crew of @tuktuksnackshop surprised us tonight. 🥹 married @jambot5k 13 years ago and somehow he still keeps me around despite the whole opening a restaurant and changing service and never knowing what day it is vibe I’ve got going nowadays. no one I’d rather have in my corner. 💙💪💕🫶

The VIP Polaroid wall grew a lot these past few weeks - but getting to hug powerhouse and inspiration @adie_eats and meet the amazing @bleuadams yesterday was heart filling in the best way. Love y’all and thank you for making the time to come hug.

the past few weeks: snack shop menu relaunch, friends and family visits, and Katie Patatie’s first chicky parm. new menu is so much fun. make your reservations on Resy - shop opens at 5pm Tuesday-Saturday.

two days into new menu launch. It takes a good bit of garlic to make the crab curry pasta’s base. overwhelmed and grateful to not just our patrons but also my team. it’s starting to feel like we are getting into a very fun groove - and I’m excited to experiment with the ideas we’ve been sharing in the kitchen. after day one and two I have to recommend reserving on Resy. We’ve got some fun specials coming up in the weeks ahead and caviar hits the menu tomorrow while supplies last. . . while I of course missed cooking alongside so many of the powerhouse ladies supporting the efforts @foodchainlex through feast this evening, I am so grateful that i had a brief opportunity to hug on and cheers so many excellent chefs in Lexington after dinner tonight. A treat after a great service for all of us. 💙💪
