🏆AND NEW IFBB PRO...
-
Tamika Tucker
@tamikatfit also turned Pro this past weekend at the NPC Nationals in Texas!
-
There's a lot to discuss here, but 1st off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🥳
-
Tamika did her first Wellness show in July at the Chicago Pro/AM and placed 2nd. She also did USAs and placed 6th right outside the Top 5. Like her sister Shannon, she had too much on her plate and will admit her prep wasn't 100%.
-
Failure, in my opinion, is the best motivation and learning tool there is. I knew that with Tamika being a Division 1 Track Athlete, she hates to lose... and Top 6 isn't bad, but when you know you could've been better, that's a loss in my book.
-
As soon as Tamika stepped off stage, we instantly both looked at each other and said ....Nationals!
-
Now, before I get ahead of myself, Tamika is what I would consider a UNICORN in this sport, a two-way athlete, meaning she can fit the criteria of two divisions...Wellness & Figure
-
As prep went on and got closer, it was more and more apparent to do both classes at Nationals and let the judges decide what division they like her in best.
-
Prejudging started with Wellness. 19 in her stacked class, and she placed Top 5! Now, imo if she was a little leaner in the glute/hamstring tie-in, she could've been Top 2 and earned Pro Status in Wellness too!
-
Figure was up next, and she dominated her class with overall size and symmetry!
-
Realistically, once Pro, you can do any Division you want. People change divisions as they outgrow the current division they are in, or if they struggle in the division they turned Pro.
-
I feel that Tamika could be a very good Wellness Pro if we decided to lay off growing her upperbody, keep growing legs and glutes BUT the fact that she won her Figure Class and grows muscle easily I feel it's best to just keep making improvements and jump in the Pro Ranks as Figure...but never say never.
-
Overall her Physique is totally opposite of her sister Shannon but both their types of Physiques are dangerous on stage. If Tamika and Shannon were battling for Overall last weekend who's to say these sisters won't both be on the Olympia stage one day battling it out again? 🙌
