REBRANDING ANNOUNCEMENT! Nomadic Artist Streetwear is now Unique Custom Threads! I’ve grown a lot since I first stepped foot on the runway two years ago. I began all this as an expansion of my art career creating hand-painted wearables, but my fashion work has taken on a whole new life of its own in the past year. My focus is on unique, custom commissions and a passion for bigger, bolder runway designs, so I felt it was time for a rebrand. I met the wonderful Ashe at a @charlotteseen event earlier this year and knew right away that I wanted her to model one of my designs. Fast forward a few months to the day before the show… There I was, happily working on this draped dress when my sewing machine bit the dust. Disaster! Undeterred, I preserved, inspired by Ashe’s tenacious spirit and my goal of getting this beauty on the runway in one of my designs. With hours to go, I got it finished and she brought it to life with the perfect combination of elegance and power. This is my first draped design, made from hand-dyed fabric with a natural train, chain metal straps, and an upcycled purse. After making my Sun Dress her own in my last collection, I was delighted to get to work with the enchanting Gabby again for my latest runway show. This tIme, her effervescent energy added a magical sparkle to this satin balloon dress. The piece was completed with an overlay made from upcycled leather that I got from @upcycleartsclt in Charlotte. You may have noticed that a lot of my pieces have these leather straps or accessories. Each one is designed to be interchangeable with the different outfits in my collection. Stepping in at the last minute to cover for a model who couldn’t make it, the stunning Brittany came to me like a perfectly wrapped gift. So it was fitting that she absolutely slayed on the runway in this upcycled halter top and pants all wrapped up with a big, white bow.
