U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC) President & CEO Ronald Busby, Sr. issued the following statement in response to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals suspension of Fearless Fund’s Strivers Grant Contest:
“The U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. unequivocally denounces the actions of Edward Blum and the Trump-appointed circuit court judges who have sought to enjoin the Fearless Fund from providing critical grants to Black women-led companies. Their attempts to stifle the progress and opportunities afforded to Black entrepreneurs are not only reprehensible but also emblematic of a broader pattern of systemic discrimination and marginalization impacting our business community.
Edward Blum has a well-documented history of using the legal system to undermine civil rights and perpetuate inequality. His efforts to obstruct the Fearless Fund's mission, which aims to address the longstanding disparities faced by Black women entrepreneurs, are a blatant affront to justice and equity.
Furthermore, the actions of Trump-appointed circuit court judges in granting injunctions against the Fearless Fund represent a betrayal of the judiciary's responsibility to uphold the principles of fairness and equality under the law. Instead of championing diversity and inclusion, these judges have chosen to side with forces that seek to maintain the status quo of systemic racism and gender bias.
