Today, USC Kaufman joins the wider university community to observe Juneteenth, a national holiday commemorating the day the Union army arrived in Texas to liberate the state’s enslaved population on June 19, 1865.
We honor that moment by continuing the fight for racial equality, creating a more diverse equitable and inclusive school, and celebrating the triumphs of Black Americans.
We invite you to read Juneteenth remarks by Dean Julia M. Ritter at the link in our bio.
