It’s an incredible honor to receive this year’s Nelson Mandela Changemaker Award.
Before changing the course of world history, Nelson Mandela first transformed himself. His life shows us that no matter where we come from or who has harmed us, we all have the potential to change the world.
For many, last week’s debate debacle and this week’s Supreme Court catastrophe were a double gut-punch.
They were for me, too. And I don’t have any easy answers.
All I can say is this: our ancestors faced worse odds — and overcame more fearsome adversaries.
More times than anyone can count, our ancestors must have felt EXACTLY like this. That’s something I think about a lot.
And yet — somehow — they never quit. They kept coming back together. They kept trying different methods and approaches. And eventually they figured out how to save and deepen democracy, in their time.
It may take longer than anyone wants. But we, too, will find a way. And just like they did, we will rescue and advance the cause of democracy — in our time.
Bet on it.
Everyone is so focused on Biden— wondering if he will stumble. But tonight’s debate format actually creates dangers for Trump, too.
In an empty chamber with the microphone’s automatically muted, he won’t be able to get laughs, can’t interrupt Biden and likely will be trying hard to come across as more sane than he usually seems. Those are three marbles on the sidewalk that could easily trip up Trump.
See you tonight on CNN for pre-debate coverage at 7pm ET.
Tune into CNN on this Thursday June 27 from 6-9pm for pre-coverage and coverage of the historic CNN Biden-Trump 2024 debate. YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS A SECOND OF THIS. #ThisIsCNN#History
About 500 Atlanta locals joined us on Saturday for our first-ever Dream Machine AI Academy!
It was a powerful, exciting and culturally uplifting experience! At @wearedreammachine we are determined to get AI access and training to overlooked communities— for free. With these tools, we know that grassroots leaders can solve tough problems, create beautiful art and make more money.
Before we started, we asked those attending to describe their comfort with AI. About 28% of those surveyed said they were “Terrified of AI.”
But they came anyway. And they left inspired, empowered and emboldened. Many called it a life-changing experience!
Many more to come!

I had the honor this weekend of addressing Groton’s 2024 graduating class. I left inspired by their big brains and bigger hearts. I pray the next generation will go beyond deconstructing or tearing down what they don’t like about our society — and use their gifts to reconstruct something better.
