I am absolutely thrilled to announce that my entry "Madame Paon Doré" for @worldofwearableart won first place in The Elizabethan Era Section! It has truly been an honour to be part of this amazing competition with so many incredibly talented designers from around the world. I started construction on "Madame Paon Doré" in 2020 and shipped her out to New Zealand in 2021 for judging. The awards show was postponed until 2022 due to Covid. I truly wish I could have been there in person to participate in the festivities. I am so excited for this year's Met Gala theme "The Garden of Time" and fashion exhibition "Sleeping Beauties". There is no denying that flowers play a featured role in my designs, whether I'm hand making them, hand painting them, constructing headdresses or outfits out of them. Here is a throw back to the finale dress that was worn during my "Lady Of The Flowers" fashion show and later published in "The Golden Age" editorial shoot. It is a taffeta ballgown with gold orchids that I hand painted cascading down the front. Happy Placebo Day to all my fellow Soulmates! (However we all know everyday is Placebo Day 😉). I thought what better way to celebrate than to share a headpiece that I have been working on. It still needs some more jewels and some slight tweaking, but hopefully Placebo fans will recognize the inspiration for the piece. @placeboworld music has been the soundtrack to my life for the past 25 years and so it's only natural that they inspire me in my designs. In fact my very first fashion show was influenced by one of their songs. 🌹Custom Corset🌹 This corset was built around my client's personal bra. I kept the red lace of the bra exposed and added eyelash lace to the cups. The corset is a deep red satin with lace covered boning channels.
