Indie Tales by House of Design Stories Indie Tales stands as a unique residence in Pondicherry, harmoniously blending modern lifestyle with traditional nuances within a narrow, conservative neighborhood. This charming abode caters to an intimate family of five, spanning three generations, all within a limited budget. This project was an experiment in creativity, finding innovative solutions to deliver a functional and aesthetically pleasing home. By incorporating cost-effective techniques at every stage, we demonstrated that design aesthetics and thoughtful planning can flourish regardless of budget constraints. House on the rocks by Studio TAB Perched on a hilltop with unrestricted horizon views, our client's ancestral plot was love at first sight, though not without challenges. Inaccessible, steep, and rock-laden, with no approach road, the project began just as the pandemic struck. Yet, just like love, architecture reveals its beauty through dedication. The Ring House by Studio Pracademics We identified a zone with no fruit trees and tried to knead the compact built form, hence creating smaller built footprint. Site with varied contour levels, program evolved with landscape design integration with existing contours. Zone where the house was to come, has been elevated by 3 meters and conceived as a table with grown lawn areas. This elevated even table partially hosts the built form, while rest of the built areas is cantilevered. Proposing the house on elevated level, provided numerous opportunities to the forecourt and house to be surrounded by thick foliage of the grown fruit trees, with birds roaming around frequently at arm’s length. Sanctum Villa by VPA Architects A home for God on highest pedestal and deeply rooted family, Sanctum villa is a temple centric design attaining the client requirements of a sanctuary within their abode. The design started with understanding the previous family house consisting of an elderly father with two sons, their respective families and a daughter. Temple being the vital element in the existing household held the largest room and was extensively decorated. Other necessities included private bedrooms for each of the member along with recreational spaces like theater, snooker area, gym and pool.
