One of our community partners has reached out with a woman who is living on the street - she only has flip flops but does a lot of walking and would really love a pair of sneakers. We do not have her size in stock (5-1/2) - would anyone be interested in purchasing a pair of sneakers for her? The pair below are at Walmart for $19.99 and are only available to ship - with shipping the total cost is $26.98. If you are interested in purchasing these sneakers for her, please reach out via email waltsmobilecloset@gmail.com. If anyone has a pair of 5-1/2 sneakers, please let me know!

A busy evening filling requests from community partners. A woman living on the street needed a tent, sleeping bag, clothes and toiletries. A gentleman transitioning from incarceration to a sober house needing clothing, toiletries and bedding to help him start over, an unsheltered gentleman needing some summer clothing and a family with two boys who need shirts and shorts. A good feeling to be able to help all of them 🙂 We are now out of tents and sleeping bags - if you can help please reach out. Thank you!

Just another example of why we love what we do…..a woman with two small children living in a shelter…..has no clothes but has landed a job interview on Friday. She’s going to look great! Included some nice gold hoops and a starburst necklace with “good vibes” 💜 Positive thoughts headed her way!

What a gorgeous morning it was to be outside at PACE Food Pantry with our FREE mobile shopping event! Glorious sun…loads of clothes and other goodies to choose from…..and happy pantry patrons all wanting to shop till they drop! Thank you, Jess, and Jane, for your help today! Your support and kindness to all shoppers is truly appreciated. We had a fairly steady streamer of shoppers and the empty hangers provide the proof…..lots of stuffed shopping bags today! The bra bin was emptied (maybe one left) lots of pants went, purses, shoes….everything! Along with lots of stuff heading off to new homes, there was also a lot of gratitude and thanks for the opportunity to shop and take what was needed. We had a few women put together some nice outfits, as well as several men who all found something they liked. We saw lots of Moms with babies today and it’s always fun to peek in and see that sweet little face…most of them slumbering! It’s always a pleasure to share a few moments in the lives of our shoppers….the moments they choose to share with us, the smiles as they find things they love or need and the thanks no matter what language they speak…..we all understand 🙂 Thank you, Brooke, for having us back again and we look forward to returning! Thank you to all of you who support us with your clothing donations, positive words and spreading the word about the work we do and the things we need. Keep going……together we are making a difference 💜

THANK YOU to Kelly Tavares for reaching out with such an awesome idea! A men’s only clothing drive supported by two really hopping barber shops! Mission Barbershop at 46 Hathaway Road in Dartmouth and Highland Barbers at 266 New Boston Road in Fall River. We truly appreciate your support in helping us fill up the shelves and racks of mens clothing at Walt’s. Interested in doing a clothing drive for Walt’s? Let’s get creative! We can help with creating the flyer, promote it and coordinate a pick up when it’s done. Reach out with questions by PM or email waltsmobilecloset@gmail.com.

A good pair of men’s sneakers…. pretty basic right? At Walt’s, they can mean the difference between having a pair of good shoes on your feet or wearing something that’s falling apart. Our community partners work with folks who have chosen to fight the battle of addiction, live on the street, are managing mental health or just need an assist getting through life. Many times, these folks walk in with only the clothes on their back wearing shoes that are well past their intended life span. Many times, they are men. These men have arrived at this point in their life for many different reasons…..each reason filled with their personal history, their personal pain and the choices they have made that brought them to deciding on a better path. Sometimes the new path sticks, sometimes it takes many tries and sometimes it never does. Our job….our privilege… is to help them in the smallest of ways by providing clean clothes and good shoes…because they matter. These size 12 sneakers just came in and went right back out to a gentleman who’s in addiction recovery and been waiting for a pair of size 12 good sneakers to put on his feet. We love what we do…..we love what you do to support us in this work. We are sharing this photo and these words to promote awareness of our need for men’s clothing. It’s a constant for us to keep the shelves filled with men’s clothing because there is such a need. Help us by spreading the word, start a clothing drive in your neighborhood, business, church….reach out with questions. Our list of men’s things we always, always need is below. It’s been created with mindfulness. Sneakers or Trail Boots Sizes 10-12 Sweatshirts/Long Sleeve T-shirts ALL Sizes Short Sleeve T-shirts Sizes MED/LG/XL Jeans or sweatpants (NO dress pants) Waist Sizes 30-34 or MED/LG/XL in sweatpants Shorts Sizes MED/LG/XL New in the Package Socks Please drop off your donations at any one of our donation spots: Gleason YMCA in Wareham, 33 Charge Pond Road, Wareham - Walt's has donation bins in the lobby. Marion COA (front desk), Cushing Community Ctr, 465 Mill St (Rt 6), Marion M-F 9-3 New Again/Refillable (inside the shop), 160 N. Main St, Carver
