The powder room centres an elegant brass and stone mosaic, with a mirror discretely tucked off to the right. Warm recessed lighting and thoughtful detailing create a warm, glamorous atmosphere.
At the heart of the home sits a beautiful old wood box: A bittersweet treasure from Mark’s ancestors time in the internment camps in B.C. during the Second World War. The box sits in a sacred place in the home, framed by delicate screens, a custom floral wallpaper, and soft evocative lighting to honour the family’s history.
Our Dovercourt project is uniquely tailored to celebrate the clients' heritage and love of colour and texture. The view from the front door reveals a composition of elements such as the custom wood screen, that recall traditional Japanese detailing. The Sommerhus living room is centred around a linear wood burning fireplace. The crisp detailing of the stone plinth and metal surround make for a beautiful, cozy focal point.
