Good morning! Just a quick update that 44 dogs are available to adopt at the center and 9 are in foster homes. Dog adoptions have been slow. Intake has exceeded adoptions this summer. Puppies are growing up in kennels. Across the nation, large dogs are just taking longer to find homes. WCAC is open for adoptions this week from 10am-6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Saturday, we will be open from 11am-3pm. We will be closed Thursday for the 4th. We really need the community’s help getting them some exposure. Please visit our website (link in bio) to view all of our adoptable pets. #Franklintn #springhilltn #nolensvilletn #nashvilletn #brentwoodtn #fairviewtn

Everyone, please wish Barrett from #franklintn a big thank you and birthday wishes! This Winstead Elementary student collected donations in lieu of gifts for his 10th birthday! This is his 4th year in a row donating, because he wants the dogs in our care to be comfortable! Barrett loves ALL dogs, but especially Hank (his staffie). He enjoyed meeting adoptable Rowdy. We are grateful for his donation, but also to his parents for instilling important lessons at such a young age about being kind to animals and the positive impact of paying it forward. Happy Birthday Barrett!

Found at Pinkerton Park in #Franklintn . If you recognize this dog, please reclaim Monday morning after 10am. With the increased fireworks activity across the county, more pets will run away from home. Please. Please. Please. Keep your pets inside safe after dark. If your pet is not microchipped, please get an ID tag or grab a marker and write your phone number on their collar.

Kitten yoga Saturday at WCAC was the hottest ticket in town. Many of our adoptable kittens (and a few foster kittens) socialized, played, or cuddled with adoring guests. We love partnering with Williamson County Group Fitness! A portion of the proceeds goes right back to help the animals! Win-Win! If you are interested in joining in on future classes, please visit the website for Williamson County Parks and Recreation for dates and availability.

Our longest term dog is working hard (or hardly working) today to celebrate #TakeYourDogToWorkDay ! He’s looking for a home office to call his very own. Is skilled with providing entertainment for boring Zoom conference calls and taste testing snacks. Is a fast learner and is eager to be your employee of the month. Our director Ondrea Johnson is hosting one of our many adoptable adult dogs in her office as her “dog of the week.” She reports "This is Rowdy. And like his name says, he’s a fun loving boy. But Rowdy isn’t just a party boy, he’s handsome and smart too. Rowdy is a young dog (1 year old), that means he’s full of great puppy energy, but it also means he’s a blank slate waiting to be trained. He loves a tug or squeaky toy. He’s very responsive to training and correction. He’s happy to go into his crate and he’s potty trained as long as you take him out when he tells you it’s time (meaning if you ignore his signals or get distracted, he will have accidents but we are working on it.). Rowdy would make a great companion for just about any home, but would do best in one without small children. He loves treats and works to figure out what will make you dispense one. He will happily entertain himself with chew toys and he lives for your affection. Come see Rowdy or 50 others at Williamson County Animal Center in Franklin, TN."
