This year’s marque will be the Celebration of 50 years of Historic Racing in Monterey! From 1974-2024, Laguna Seca has honored manufacturers and icons of motorsport every year. The anniversary display will contain the most iconic cars from the past marques. Cars like the Shelby Daytona Coupe, Jaguar D-Type, Maserati 250F, BMW V12 LMR, and so many more. It’s the only place in the world to see the full collection on track and displayed for your photographic pleasure. Week 24/29 of taking a look back at past marques in our countdown to the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion! In 1991, racing legend Juan Manuel Fangio was honored for the event, the first ever time an individual was honored. Motorsports’ greats gathered to reconnect, such as (left to right) Sir Stirling Moss, Fangio, Phil Hill, Sir Jack Brabham, Dan Gurney and Danny Sullivan. Of course this had fans gather in the masses during the autograph session for a once in a lifetime opportunity, for which Fangio delighted in meeting people. Week 23/29 of taking a look back at past marques in our countdown to the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion! In 1979 and 2001 Bentley was the featured Marque and demonstrated decades worth of motorsport history. Some of the greats such as Phil Hill drove his ex-Charles Amherst-Villiers 1931 Blower Bentley in 1979. The attraction of seeing what The Bentley Boys drove stirred imaginations of racing in the ‘20s and ‘30s. Bentley also celebrated its six overall wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
