Today is one of the hardest days of my entire life of 45 years…. I’m in shock, pain, disbelief, I’m sad, I’m hurt, yet I’m so thankful to have known such a great man in Aaron. Aaron the words I would use to describe you are consistent, kind, respectful, charming, loving, caring, giving, thoughtful and most importantly God Fearing. You would help literally anyone that you could.
You were the light of any room or situation, always positive and smiling.
We have been really close for several years now. There were weeks we would talk on the phone every other day for hours just about life, family, and of course music. We stayed n touch more than friends I’ve known for 20 plus years. Aaron u had a way of make every person like myself feel special and as if we were one of your top best friends. When I would leave a VM or Voice note u would tell me “Wendell we are friends, I know you personally so you don’t have to say it’s Wendell on the VM lol. (It was just a habit) I mean after all u are a celebrity musician. But as I listen back to some of your old VM’s, u did it also🤣
I still can’t understand how u found the time to be so successful as a father, husband, musician yet made time for so many people that call you friend.
I must admit looking back I’m really upset that u never signed my Aaron Spears Articulate signature ride, it would mean the world to me right now. You refused to sign my ride because u said (“Wendell we are friends in real life”)you aren’t a fanboy, but my real friend. Little did u know like most I was a fanboy. You paved the way for so many of us and set the standard for how to love, respect, treat people equally and how to be a professional musician. I’m going to miss your voice, your smile, your words of encouragement, our FT calls, texts, our hangs such as going out in LA for 🌮 and hitting our favorite 🍩 spot called Yum Yum.. Thanks for all the great advice you gave me on how to deal with or handle certain situations.
