If the roof of either theater could have opened up and the glorious gift of love and joy through art could have poured out over the world, more people would understand that hope for a better world is not lost. I would challenge ANYONE, Musical Theater lover or otherwise, not to have been moved by the talent and wide eyed excitement of the nominees at the Jimmy Awards. All performing on a Broadway Stage for the first time. Bright eyes, big voices, high hopes! Even after displaying abundant talent, their winning speeches putting our MUCH older MUCH more experienced statesmen to shame. The Arts have ignited such intelligence and passion in these young people. I say the next time you find yourself denigrating a younger generation, check out these Jimmy Kids. They will give you hope. There are no words on a page to sufficiently describe what this night did for me personally, but after a deeply rich and sophisticated rendition of ‘Let Them Hear You’ Winner
@damson_cholajr.official spoke to us with such clarity, subtlety and inspired simplicity that he felt wise beyond his years. His speech ended with a repeat of the lyric “Let them hear you” We hear you Damson and what a privilege.
