The First MET.
Firstly, a huge thanks to Anna and TikTok for having me attend such a special night. Big love to the bestie @robertwun for crafting this custom look for me to wear, I’ve never felt so beautiful. And to the lovely @urlilkat who helped me reach out when I wasn’t myself, and made sure I looked pristine the whole night, you’re such valuable friend and a hard worker. Always love to @richmondokeke for making sure I was covered when I needed something. And to all of you who’ve been asking for years to see me here, we made it, not I, but we. I love you all 🧡
Nothingness brought to shape. Within this shape is understanding. For when unable to categorize, fear instills it's power, it makes us feel inferior to the vastness of our universe, but form shape with the void, the mind is tickled, an understanding can be seen over the horizon. We have to catagorize, we can never let things just be. This is humanity, boxes on top of boxes on an endless shelf.
The look itself isn’t inspired by anything. Like a lot of my favorite looks I’ve styled, it’s just pieces I’ve acquired randomly that just happen to work so well together. The Elena Dawson skirt I found in Paris some months back, and the Ann D shirt from FW19 from more months before. It felt empty for a while though so I added a hat :) I rarely plan shoots, my favorite things come from unplanned moments, this day was no different.
