JUST ANNOUNCED ONE YEAR AHEAD OF In the summer of 2025, the Centre Pompidou invites the artist Wolfgang Tillmans to create an exceptional exhibition spreading over 6.000m2 in the Public Information Library (Bpi) on the second floor. This is the first time that the then vacated Bpi will be used in this way. This exhibition-event will mark both the end of the Centre Pompidou’s programming in its Parisian building before its extensive renovation, and the beginning of Centre Pompidou | Constellation. Wolfgang Tillmans conceives this intervention as an echo of this emblematic monument: built in 1977 as a visionary project by the architects Piano and Rogers and as an incubator of a new democratized concept of culture. Tillmans will transform the Library into a site-specific exhibition dedicated to his multi-faceted approach to making. Work about the current moment will be in dialogue with Tillmans’ lifelong interest in archiving. @centrepompidou #wolfgangtillmans #centrepompidou @bpi_pompidou #bpipompidou #paris

AfD and Wagenknecht boycott Zelensky: Vladimir Putin's willing helpers [A commentary by Julius Betschka in tagesspiegel.de] The decision by the AfD and the BSW to stay away from Zelensky's speech reveals their attitude: they want Ukraine to be subjugated. Because if you really want to broker peace, you also have to listen. The AfD and the Wagenknecht party are therefore boycotting the Ukrainian president's speech in the German Bundestag. Just four members of the AfD parliamentary group opposed the vote of their group leadership. All ten BSW MPs stayed away. The two parties are thus siding with Vladimir Putin. That is now obvious at the latest. The following can be said: If you don't even want to listen, you don't want diplomacy. The boycott of this speech is a hostile act, the signal is clear: Volodymyr Zelensky is an undesirable person in the House from the point of view of both parties. This also calls into question the sincerity of the much-expressed desire of both parties for a quick peace. What they want is the subjugation of Ukraine. Even before his speech, the AfD leadership called Zelensky a "beggar president", while the Wagenknecht party accused him of a "highly dangerous escalation spiral". They would have been better off listening to the president. In his first speech in the German Bundestag, Zelensky gave a speech full of gratitude to the German people for their defence against Russian bombs and for taking in Ukrainian refugees. Above all, Zelenskyi campaigned for one thing in Berlin: peace. Of course, he is pursuing one goal. He wants to secure support for his country - among German politicians and the German people. And he does not want to cede an inch of Ukraine to Russia. You can disagree on this issue, that is the right of every member of parliament. Some in Ukraine also see it differently. But while the two parties ignore all of Vladimir Putin's fantasies of great power, ignore his nuclear threats, gloss over his dictatorial system and celebrate every hint of a dictatorial peace as a grand diplomatic gesture, they don't even listen to the Ukrainians. For @wolfgang_tillmans , nightlife and club culture has served as a constant source of inspiration. Based between Berlin and London, he started documenting acid house parties blossoming around Germany and the UK over 20 years ago. Now, his photographs can be found everywhere from the walls of Panorama Bar to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. But he isn’t just active behind the camera. He’s also an outspoken activist for the international LGBTQIA+ community and an active musician, releasing second album, Build From Here, this year. In our first Exchange from Pride month, the acclaimed photographer talks about his enduring love of nightlife, the origins of his music practice and his new album. Listen to EX.716 in full, via the link in bio.
