The first time I met Rob I was vending with him and
@christinebeee @myheidiline @tikipop @tiki_js at Tiki Oasis, in a hallway because there was a mixup about space. An unforgettable experience, we all made the best of it and had such a fun time, many good friendships were made that weekend.
Later that year while visiting Maui, Rob took us out to the Halloween parade in Lahaina. With his giant tiki costume he made, we walked the street and guarded him as people awed over the tiki he sweated in on his shoulders for a few hours. Such good times, another unforgettable experience (I’m the lampshade btw).
I’ll miss the mugs maker and dynamic artist, but also the teacher, the storyteller, and the friend who was welcoming to a new artist in the scene. I’ll miss the ‘Maui Tiki Crawl’, organized and instigated by Rob who loved bringing part of the tiki scene to his home in Maui. Rob was always down for an adventure, and I’m blessed to have had a few with him in this life. Much love and aloha to Kristy and family, thank you for sharing Rob with the tiki world! Cheers to that pain free, dust free glaze session where everything turns out perfect after the first fire!
