去年の春、飛行機の窓から過去数年間の思い出を振り返りながら、僕は世界中を旅し、色々な服を着て、たくさんの人に出会い、ファッションに触れるたび、何かを創り出し、それを世界の誰かに届けたいという強い願望が自分の中で芽生えていることに気付きました。
特に、「Love & Peace」という言葉を形にしたくて、お守りのような存在になってくれるジュエリーをつくりたいと思いました。僕にとってジュエリーは、特別な瞬間をとらえ、時間を超えて保存してくれるタイムカプセルのようなものなのです。
この思いを実現するため、アートや音楽の影響を受けたデザインで知られるJUSTIN DAVISとコラボをすることにしました。
何度もスケッチブックに「Love」と「Peace」の言葉を描き、心に響いたデザインをジュエリーに刻み込み、中央のダイヤモンドのクロスにゴールドのハートを添えて、この理念を表現しました。
このジュエリーが誰かにとって特別なお守りとなり、その人の人生に小さな光をもたらすことができたら、これ以上の喜びはありません。
Last spring, as I looked back into my memories from the past few years through the window of my flight,
I realized that traveling around the world, wearing various outfits, meeting many people, and each time I get into fashion,
a strong desire to create something and delivering it to someone out there strongly manifested in me.
Precisely, I wanted to materialize the words “Love & Peace” into something tangible, and create a certain jewelry that could
serve as a kind of charm. For me, jewelry is like a time capsule that captures special moments, preserving them beyond time.
To make it real, I decided to collaborate with the Japanese High-Jewelry House Justin Davis, well known for their art and music influenced designs.
I repeatedly sketched the words “Love” and “Peace” in my sketchbook, and engraved a design that highly-resonated with me onto these jewelries.
I also added a little gold heart to the central diamond cross to further express my motto.
There would be no greater joy for me if this jewelry could become a special charm for someone, lightening up their everyday-life.
