Dnipro! We missed you.
I don’t really like Dnipro in general. But everyone has their favorite streets, parks, and restaurants.

Tomorrow morning, Yeva and I are flying to Ukraine to visit family and friends. We need to be at the airport by 5 AM to catch a flight to Krakow. I love Poland, but unfortunately, this time it will be very quick: we catch a bus and head to Przemyśl. From there, we'll take a train to Dnipro. It's probably the longest train ride in my life—and of course, in Yeva's life as well.
By Sunday, we'll already be having lunch at Grandma's.

How important it is to smile. Sometimes, in the morning, you might not be in the best mood, the weather is gloomy, and the coffee spilled. But then you step outside and a stranger smiles at you and says, "Good morning!"
You think - it really is a good morning. The oleander bloomed overnight, the starling sang in the eucalyptus branches. Half of the coffee is still left. Isn’t it nice?
Step outside and smile at a stranger.
Someone's day will become better today.

How we missed the photo shoots! There are no children's modeling schools in Portugal (it would be better for everyone if they didn't exist in Ukraine in their current form either). After moving, we quickly signed a contract with a modeling agency and were happy. But it turned out that this is a delicate matter, where it's easier to miscalculate than to get it right. And of course, we miscalculated...
But it's another story.

Today, there is a teacher assistant strike at our school. Yeva is happy that she can relax at home😂
When we were planning to move, I read a lot about the constant strikes of all imaginable professions in Portugal, but in a year we've encountered them only a few times. Moreover, our teacher, Professor Susana, is very responsible and conscientious, and she always works hard to teach our children.
It's a pity there's no strike for gymnastics, and we'll have to wait for Yeva from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. But she loves her training so much and never misses it. What wouldn't we do? ❤️
When moving to Portugal, I had a great fear that Yeva would lose all her friends in one go. Mothers who had moved earlier reassured me that children learn quickly and help each other. Thank you, girls, everything turned out just like that.
Portuguese children are very kind. They can celebrate a birthday in the parking lot, bringing along a huge box of toys. From a very young age, they follow the rules, and the older ones help the younger ones. Sometimes I see how easily and effortlessly they do things that our teachers and parents (often unsuccessfully) tried to get us to do.
Friends are very important for children!

Yeva doesn't like working in a team at all. She enjoys being the only star, with everything revolving around her. She diligently does what she's told, but she doesn't enjoy it. But this particular shoot completely overwhelmed her, and she was full of emotions for several days :) Thank you for the invitation!

I'll show more photos from this 2022 series for the brand @krisgoldy . Yeva doesn't look like herself here) I remember she asked for a long time if we would buy her this dress with big sequins. We didn't buy the dress - it wasn't clear whether we would go to dressy places or have to leave the house quickly. In the end, it ended up being the latter. All of Yevin's beautiful dresses are hanging in a white doll cupboard in a huge pink room. There is a constant shortage of our beautiful dresses here, even though the teachers think Yeva is the biggest fashionista in the school. We'll go try them on soon. I think Yeva has already grown out of everything)

I'm so happy to be with you again!
During the time we've been apart, we've overcome a whole bunch of challenges and now we want to come back here, where the most beautiful and talented people change the world for the better every day.
Our most significant achievement during this time is related to Yeva's sports school:
In November, her school gym teacher directed her to a sports school in the acrobatics section. She started with the amateur group, although she had been doing gymnastics in Ukraine for quite a while. Since June, the sports director has moved her to the national competition group, and now we have four group training sessions per week, each lasting 2.5-3 hours, plus individual sessions. After the first training, Yeva came home and fell asleep without even having dinner) but she is eagerly looking forward to the next one.
Let's celebrate this year's successes together; maybe someone missed out just like we did? What important, interesting, or pleasant things have happened to you?

A picture with a piano is a must have for every girl)
Here Yeva is 6 years old and the piano is her big dream. At 7 she entered the first class of Music School No.1 in Dnipro, Ukraine, in solo vocal class. Our teachers are real fans of their work, super professionals!
Now Yeva is finishing the second grade of the music school. After all, music is emotion, live communication. It is very hard to study online with full commitment when you are only eight years old. Little by little, music lessons become "mum made me do it". I don't know whether to be firm and insist on third-grade lessons, or to let Yeva leave music behind. It's a tough decision, one in which Mum will be wrong either way)
