TheArtGorgeous latest print issue is launching during Hong Kong Art Week. Teaming up with renowned painter Kitty Ng, they’re launching both the beloved magazine and TheArtGorgeous City Guide Hong Kong.

I will gather my thoughts in an essay over the next two weeks, but right now it’s just time to bask in the afterglow… and to get over to the bakery before my cardamom kruller is sold out.
Our executive chairman held a brilliant speech last night, touching upon the role of our @fotografiska.berlin as a contemporary museum of photography, art and culture.
We‘re getting the question often: „Are you even a real museum?“. Yes, we are. Because we serve the audience and the artist in many ways „real“ museums don’t.
It’s true that we don’t collect works and we don’t conserve, but perhaps that’s not of primary importance in photography and visual culture.
Instead we focus on three aspects of being a museum:
1. Being inclusive and accessible (open late until 11pm every day, barrier free architecture, exhibition texts in 5 languages, focus on highest visitor experience quality, recruitment of an inclusive and diverse team),
2. Educate on important discourses (in a non-elitist, experiential way, inspiring new perspectives, but also fostering artist education through cooperation with other institutions),
3. Putting the artists and their work over the institution (supporting artists in all career stages, cooperating with other museums in our network, treating the heritage of previous artist-communities in our building respectfully and responsibly)
Thanks to @yoram_roth who has done so much for the cultural landscape here in Berlin and together with art world pioneers such as @paulinebenthede@elinfrendberg@bgfm71@wrightsophie@marinapaulenka@thomasfriedrichschaefer , we have the honor to showcase, what a contemporary museum such as @fotografiska is contributing.
Opening Sept 15, 2023 in Berlin and open late every day.

Looking up, looking forward. A lot of hard work but we are getting there… and I don’t just mean Fotografiska Berlin. It’s been a tough nine months, but the teams at both @fotografiska and @neuehouse have worked hard to make things right. Onward!
