While I was off "playing soldier" as Verne called it, she left early on Friday by herself to unload the trailer, scoop up some new headers (since mine failed at the end of the weekend a couple weeks ago), recruit help to install them, do my tire changes, and set up our pit. I got done with work and when I arrived to the track and she pretty much had everything done. Thanks

Into the racing, I was race 1 on Saturday. Shannon bamboozled me with her rhythm on the flag this time... steady board turn, then fast flag raise. I pulled the trigger a hair later than I would have liked but still got out the gate strong. The whole race was a good battle, and I am getting more and more comfortable with how the
@roadracecityracing Bridgestone tires are handling, and for the second race weekend in a row on them I improved my times. A new PR in lap 2, and then another new PR in lap 5! Good racing and it was a fun fight.
Race 12 for me started good, still running pretty fast times but some of my competitors were making some moves that looked like a crash waiting to happen. In the end though, I suffered a mechanical and had to take a DNF in the last half of the last lap. Back to the drawing board with that one.
Sunday was much better in that I didn't lose a single position all day, but much worse in that it is because it got rained out. Maybe for the better in my case, since I'm not sure yet what caused the mechanical.
Overall good weekend, mostly because amidst "playing soldier" I got to spend some time with my wife doing what we enjoy.
