Featuring mentors and judges Laura Karpman, Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum, Tamar-Kali, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Angélica Negrón, and Paola Prestini.

When composer Allison Loggins-Hull received the invitation to be in residence with The Cleveland Orchestra she was elated, and had a lot of questions. Originally from Philadelphia, LSDXOXO broke through in NYC as part of the GHE20GOTH1K collective. Balancing uncompromising underground instincts with the impulse and pleasure of the dancefloor, his sets and productions quickly earned him acclaim across all kinds of scenes globally.
Now residing in Berlin and running his own club night Floorgasm, LSDXOXO is synonymous with the new wave of techno artists reclaiming Black queer spaces and injecting some much-needed fun and camp into the genre.
LSDXOXO’s debut album, DOGMA is out on September 13th through his @fantasyaudiogroup label.

We’re proud to announce that we’re now accepting submissions for the 2024-2025 Hildegard Commission through August 1st, 2024. This year's focus is cinematic collaborations and writing music for film.
Our mentorship initiative supports early-career women and other marginalized gender composers with a $5k cash prize, a commission, a live recording, and one-on-one mentorship with this year's amazing judges: Laura Karpman, Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum, Tamar-kali and Paola Prestini.

Black Science Fiction returns to National Sawdust after a sold-out show last June for a special Juneteenth performance! This specially-curated evening will feature jazz ensemble Konjur Collective and multi-instrumentalist Isaiah Collier. Tickets for this performance also include free entry into our Season 9 Closing Party after the show at Gabriela, just a short walk away!

Tomorrow, June 13: don't miss a sneak peak into Pulitzer Prize-winner Ellen Reid’s latest opera, The Shell Trial. 🌍🔥 Inspired by the 2021 lawsuit victory over Shell Oil, this provocative opera, with a libretto by Roxie Perkins, is a powerful call to action.
Joining Reid in the thought-provoking NationalSawdust+ For Nature program will be Saad Amar, climate activist and founder of Justice Environment, and NS+ curator Elena Park. Soprano Shabnam Abedi, baritone Christopher Herbert, pianist Timothy Long, and Francisco Nuñez's Young People’s Chorus of New York City, conducted by Emma Sway, will perform arias sung from the perspectives of diverse figures, such as The Climate Refugee, The CEO, The Artist, as well as a chorus of children representing those killed by Shell’s colonial past and climate disasters.
For Nature is made possible by the generous support of Kathryn and Emmanuel Morlet and the Wescustogo Foundation. The Shell Trial is a commission by Dutch National Opera, in co-production with Het Geluid (Maastricht), Opera Philadelphia, and Bregenz Festival.

Last weekend, Margaux Sauvé, French-Canadian singer-songwriter who performs as @ghostlykisses , performed a sold-out show at Brooklyn’s @nationalsawdust . Sauvé brougth her signature ethereal vocals alongside dreamy, minimalist instrumentals. 🪐
Opening the show was an excellent set from Montreal-based synth-pop artist @kroyyyyyyyyyyyy .
