Sandberg Instituut's Graduation Exhibition 2024 is fast-approaching! Our full program schedule is now online on our dedicated graduation website (link in bio), which also features profiles of our exceptional graduating students, and expanded accessibility notes and content notifications regarding the works in the exhibition.  We can't wait to launch the exhibition next Saturday, 8 June, from 11:00 onwards at @door_open_space   The exhibition, running until 11 June, is brimming with exciting works that span painting, sculpture, installation, performance, opera, lectures, and music—promising, as ever, a surprising, unpredictable show with collaborations and projects that exemplify the courageous experimentation and stalwart vibrancy that rests at the heart of Sandberg Instituut. The exhibition also features a full performance program from Critical Studies (on Saturday and Sunday) and Re:master Opera (daily), as well as performances, workshops, and lectures across other departments. We will host a bookshop from 11:00–20:00 on Saturday and Sunday at Pre-reserved (Tt. You are kindly invited for a 2-day spiral at Het HEM, organized by Artificial Times, the temporary department on AI and sound making at Sandberg Instituut. There will be performances, trained AI models, pop music, videos, mockumentaries, invisible sculptures, drinks, beverages, juices, cocktails, refreshments and pretty art. We firmly believe that Het HEM is not that far away - and that art gazing and the sensorial and intellectual stimuli you will get will definitely make it worth the travel. The sun is out and it will be gracing this industrial space with its cunning light, promising us a sharp summer and a new world. AI is right around the corner, so come join us in this whirlwind to prepare for our inevitable escape.

The Quilombo is in a Process: flight is organizing towards flight. ⁠ ⁠ An archival exhibition and a lecture. Solo graduation exhibition by Musoke Nalwoga (@musoke_nalwoga )⁠ ⁠ 17 May (11:00–16:00) and 18 May (11:00–14:00)⁠ at OSCAM's YOMU - space (@oscamonline )⁠ Bijlmerplein 110, Amsterdam⁠ ⁠ "The protest poster as an intersection between art and idea was also powerfully employed as part of the various independence struggles within the former Dutch colonies, as they united for freedom against their colonizer. Emancipation movements in Curaçao, Suriname, Indonesia, and South Africa all mobilized under banners, posters, and symbols to fight for their independence, collaborating with artists like René Tosari or Koempoel Sujatno.
