Happy 4th of July! Today is the grand finale! 😱🇺🇸‼️ Today I am doubly happy because it is the Independence Day of the United States of America, the country that has adopted me as its son. Its climate, culinary diversity, and its best attraction—the diversity of cultures—thank you, USA, for giving me the opportunity to represent you with great pride. What an honor to be the first Latin immigrant to represent the United States in the most beautiful male experience in the world, @officialmistersupranational .🫂♥️ Today a dream that I have carried in my heart for a long time comes true. Being on this platform is not just anything for me. It is a great opportunity to raise my voice in honor of many who do not dare to because of the fear of what others will say. Here I am fulfilling my dream and fulfilling the goal of representing you, who once told yourself that it was not possible to achieve your dreams. I am here to tell you that they are possible, that you should not stop under any circumstances and be strong and courageous, for Jehovah your God will be with you wherever you go. Infinite thanks to everyone who, in one way or another, supported me during this process. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thanks to my director @magalifebles and the organization @supranationalus for this wonderful opportunity. Yesterday during my presentation in the Preliminary competition of @officialmistersupranational , I received many very derogatory and disrespectful comments about my body. In this post, I’m sharing some of the more decent ones. To which I have the following response: After one of the most difficult stages of my life dealing with depression and gaining weight uncontrollably due to chronic anxiety, I want you to know that I have sacrificed a lot to get to where I am today. This has been the result of much effort, discipline, and dedication. I’m not asking to be included anywhere because I’m a human just like everyone else. I’m also not in favor of being overweight. I’ve made significant progress with my body, and this is not my final destination. I invite many to do it by their own choice, not because others want them to. No one has the right to tell you when you should or shouldn’t do things. Let’s be more empathetic, more respectful, and more loving towards others. Just because a person is exposed doesn’t mean they aren’t a human being. Being exposed is not synonymous with being prepared for others to say whatever they want to you. More than having perfect muscles, I want to be healthy for myself. I’ve made progress, but this is not my final destination; the best is yet to come. Never let anything or anyone steal your dreams.
