DEVELOPING: Large-scale clashes have erupted across northern #Syria between Turkish military forces and protesters/ armed SNA elements, such as in #Afrin , #Aleppo , and #Jarabulus . Turkish military bases and checkpoints, as well as vehicles with Turkish license plates, have also been targeted. The clashes come in response to rioting in #Turkey’s Melikgazi region over the weekend that targeted Syrian neighborhoods and businesses, which was spurred by allegations that a Syrian refugee assaulted a child in Kayseri. #AtlasNewsUpdateSyria

UPDATE: In a 6-3 decision, the #UnitedStates Supreme Court has ruled that former President Donald #Trump is entitled to “absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority,” however, there is “no immunity for unofficial acts” taken in a private capacity. How this will apply to federal charges brought against Trump for alleged efforts to subvert the 2020 Presidential Election remains unclear, as SCOTUS did not apply the ruling to whether or not certain actions taken regarding January 6 were in an official or unofficial capacity. The case has been sent back down to trial court for further proceedings, which will most likely go on past the 2024 Presidential Election. A Serbian police officer guarding the Israeli Embassy in #Belgrade was left seriously wounded after being shot in the neck with a crossbow by a terror suspect. The officer was able to return fire after being hit, killing the suspect, according to Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, who added that “there are now all indications that the motives relate to terrorism.” The officer is said to be in stable condition after emergency surgery. Former #Uvalde Police Chief Pete Arredondo and former school police officer Adrian Gonzales have been indicted by a grand jury for their involvement (or lack there of) in the botched 77 minute police response to the 2022 Robb Elementary school massacre, which left 19 children and two staff dead. The pair have been charged with 19 felony counts of abandoning and endangering a child, according to the Uvalde Leader-News and ABC 13 Houston, marking the first indictments related to the school shooting. #AtlasNewsUpdateUnitedStates
