In our latest AdoramaTV video, Reza took advantage of the a9III’s Global Shutter and 1/80,000th/sec flash sync speed and paired it up with the @flashpointlighting XPLOR 300 monolight to capture these beautiful shots. This one was all about working with your first "real" model. Honestly, it's the fastest way to get your best ever portraits. You focus on the lighting, camera and all the technical bits, your model does what they do best, modelling.
But that's just the start. You're also getting access to a model's experience, so why not tap into that?. Ask them for advice and inspiration, you never know where your portrait session might go!
That's exactly what I did here and Cara suggested some sunglasses, I suggested some gels and the smoke from the little SmokeNINJA at the end was a joint idea!

This one was all about the classic 3 point lighting technique. Apart from the obvious thing of needing three lights, 3 point lighting is actually quite a flexible way of working. There's no set rules, just a set of guidelines.
It's also a lighting technique that crosses the boundaries of both photography and video. So even if three point lighting is something you've never tried, there's a high chance you've already seen it in action.
