A little BTS of the Chopicalqui climb with @louisjms . I like documenting the journey, but sometimes all you see is the summit post. Trying something different with this, let me know what you think! Shot with the original @fujifilmx_us X100. Challenging, but so much fun.
One of my favorite summits. Third time up here and this one cost the most physically. @louisjms and I decided this would be the first mountain of our season in Peru and we were definitely humbled haha. Luckily the weather was perfect and we stayed up top for a while basking in the sun and the views.
Gotta love a new lens! Brought the @tamronamericas 50-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD to Peru and it's been awesome so far. I typically never have a telephoto lens on my backpacking/mountaineering trips, but the smaller size and weight of this one changes that. Having vibration compensation, moisture resistance, and a zoom switch lock make it even better. Ready to keep capturing with it 🙌🏽
Un cumpleaños más en la montaña 🙌🏽 No soy uno para celebrar, pero estar rodeado por vistas así, con amigos, café, y desconectado, me parece la mejor opción. Ayer hicimos cumbre de esta gran montaña, el Chopicalqui.
Did you know Colombia 🇨🇴 had mountains like these? The moment I realized it I booked my flights haha. Can't wait to return for a pending expedition...

Last few steps to the summit! Still feels weird to say I stood atop Mount Everest. A super late start (2am) and worsening weather with every hour had us going as fast as we could to get up and get down safely. The wind here was super harsh and it was hard to keep my balance on the top; I was also worried about my 360 flying away haha. But having the mountain to ourselves for that small window was pretty much perfect.
Summit of Mount Everest! Wild to think that constant last-minute life choices and career do-overs led to me standing on the top of the world yesterday. Mountains have given me purpose, challenge, freedom...I'm so exhausted and my body is pretty broken, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Also, going up the last possible day before the mountain closed meant zero lines and just zero people in general. Amazing, experiencing Everest this way after watching all those crowd videos..

Pd. Una banderita Peruana en la cima xq mi orgullo (y yo) nacieron allá. Fue toda una pelea con el viento y esto es lo que se logró.
