Drawings from the last few days of court. An animated Stormy Daniels tells her story. I could hear the sounds of all the reporters keyboards getting faster as Stormy describes her encounter with Trump. Compared to the weeks of fairly dry witnesses this moment really stood out. Stormy dressed casually, wearing a kind of slouchy loose hoodie and tank top underneath. Felt like everyone was hanging onto every word. Trump who generally sits in court with his held tilted back slightly and eyes closed was wide awake and staring intently at her. @nytopinion @nytimes

The closed-circuit TV view of the trial from the press room. Because cameras are prohibited, courtroom sketch artists (and myself) are allowed to draw what they see. After being denied entry to the room for the first two days, I was finally able to get in and observe the proceedings. @nytopinion @nytimes @nytimesopinionart

I’m going to try to wake up early and bike down to the courthouse one more time for the sentencing in July.

Michael Cohen on the witness stand. Really got into drawing his expressive face. Almost felt like a character out of a Dick Tracy comic. This was drawn at the end his first day. @nytopinion

On Friday Hope Hicks testified. Pretty big turnout with palpable energy in the air. Felt like everyone in the overflow room was hanging on every word. Immediately after getting on the stand she said she was really nervous. On the swipe, Tr*mp (his usual eyes closed head had tilted pose) his lawyer Todd Blanche and a clip of Tr*mp talking at one of his rallies played during court @nytopinion @nytimes

There’s a fascinating moment at the start of every day in court when Tr*mp sits down at the defense table and the photographers are allowed to come up close and take pictures. Tr*mp looks into the cameras and glowers. Then all the photographers leave and everyone settles in their seats and court is in session. Tr*mp supporter war vet I talked to for a bit outside the courthouse and St*rmy’s lawyer Keith D*vidson on the witness stand describing how hard it was to get paid. For @nytopinion @nytimes
