🔥Michael Potts @mrp_visionaries 👉🏻Where conscious and subconscious meet... —————————————- 🔥 JUST PUBLISHED! 🏆The BIG B&W Issue 2024 Digital Edition on @pocketmags /lens-magazine —————————————- 👉🏻“In my ongoing underwater work, I seek moments of sublime peace (that fine line where the conscious and subconscious meet) and creative chaos (where energy is released, that fine line is broken, and the potential becomes kinetic). I see the water as a metaphor for a dream medium and try to meet my subjects on that boundary, hoping to take the viewer from tranquil peace to a burst of creation and back again. I think these dreamlike images may have been influenced by my desire to change my life direction, move from the chaos of the path I’d chosen, and find the peace of the path not taken.” - Mike Potts 👉🏻Mike grew up in Pennsylvania, and in 2005, he moved to Arizona, where he’s rarely cold and doesn’t have to shovel snow. He graduated from Bucknell University with a major in English and a minor in Chemistry and is still wondering what to do with them. Mike currently works as a nuclear medicine technologist, so he has someone to talk to. This lets him photograph on the side without having to live on ramen and sleep on friends’ couches. The rest of his time is devoted to various cats. They don’t like ramen, but they do like couches. His ultimate dream is to visit Mars (and ideally make the trip back, too). In the meantime, he keeps taking pictures.

The MIX Edition 2024 👌🏻May Issue #116 Enjoy reading on @pocketmags /lens-magazine ———————————————- 👉🏻Shamanism in Nepal is characterized by a rich tradition of spiritual practices involving chants, rhythmic Drumming, and vibrant, colorful food offerings. Nepalese shamans, known as “Jhankris” or “Dhamis,” often incorporate chants and mantras into their ceremonies. Her work covers a wide range of topics, including Drag Queen Identities, medical emergencies, voyeurism, pandemic confinement, and humanitarian efforts. 🔥James T Gunderson @jtgundersonphoto 👉🏻A State of “Arrested Decay” ———————————————- 🔥JUST PUBLISHED! The MIX Edition 2024 👌🏻May Issue #116 Enjoy reading on @pocketmags /lens-magazine ———————————————- 👉🏻Some ghost towns are left to decay and rot in the surrounding area, such as the former town of Drawbridge, located near Fremont, California, which is slowly sinking into the Marsh near Oakland. Others have been transformed into tourist attractions, such as Calico, California, or Oatman, Arizona; both hold gun shows daily in the city streets and sell refrigerator magnets in their shops. But Bodie, California, is something special. Nestled in the Bodie Hills, east of the Sierra Nevada mountains and just north of Mono Lake, between seven and eight thousand people lived in this mining town during its heyday between 1877 and 1881. 👉🏻Meet James, a self-proclaimed California native despite initially hailing from Fort Worth, Texas. He spent his formative years in Austin before moving to California in the early ‘90s with dreams of becoming an actor. While the acting career didn’t quite take off as he had hoped, James did find his niche in the entertainment industry as a software developer, with stints at Harris Broadcasting, Technicolor, and Deluxe. On the side, James has also dabbled in photography, particularly interested in capturing the allure of abandoned ghost towns, the iconic Route 66, and the timeless charm of black-and-white cityscapes. James resides in Pacific Palisades with his wife, the talented photographer Miriam Schulman. 👉🏻Images: James T Gunderson © All rights reserved. Bodie Town A Truck in Bodie McDonald House McDonnell. I embrace both natural and urban environments. While I appreciate color in all its vibrance, I hold a special reverence for black and white. All these influences deeply touch my art and life.” -Karen Safer 👉🏻Karen Safer is an internationally award-winning fine art photographer and a poet with a musical bent. She is a native Angelino born to creative, scholarly-minded parents who encouraged world travel (230 countries/territories visited). In her childhood, she began taking pictures of family and friends and progressed from painting to developing black-and-white photos in college.
