I am utterly in-love with and terrified by this photo of @stellad.plastica - their expression and ability to emote through the lens is stunning. So I had to print it and hang it. - The eye seems to follow me when I walk through the hallway it hangs in. I also love how well the gold makeup works here—I was worried that I would not be able to balance the reflection of gold against that of their skin. The makeup is made through mixing @kryolanofficial pure metallic pigment gold with their icicle gel, we used an entire 100 ml gel for the shoot, but still have so much metallic pigment left. #kryolan #storyportrait #goldportrait #makeupshoot #artportrait #sonyalpha #sonynordic

Mad Max Hell Road is one of the best movies I have seen. Visually, it is stunning, and I utterly love Furiosa as a character. With the @furiosamovie in cinemas, I wanted to do something inspired by the character and that amazing design of @lesleyvmakeup One of the challenges of being inspired when it comes to characters - is that it quickly goes from inspired to Cosplay. Cosplay is amazing in its own right, and I want to shoot more of it - but I did not want to do Cosplay now. Here we went from using the black/grease/diesel of the original design and rather went for gold. Which is also a much greater challenge in terms of lighting. @madame.soph - the model and the make-up artist did a great interpretation of the original look. We used two Kelvin EPOS 300 kindly loaned to us from @kelvincinemalighting - Amazing powerful lights with a colour quality I have never seen before or later, but most importantly, they were easy to work with. These were key in transforming the space and giving the model a good whole-body light. In addition, we had two Nanlite Pavotubes 30X and 3 ii 6C - which were primarily used as fill lights. I love the cyberpunk aesthetic and I think this is my most successful take on it - getting the feeling right, @tinkfacerh does an amazing job at embodying that vibe - a goddess of the electric. Power of lighting - over the last three days, I have posted three different sets of photos from the @emanuelvigelandmuseum (BTS at the end of the reel) - with creations by @karolinalaskowskalingerie and @royalblack_couture modelled by @quinn.linden Shooting on location always comes with a number of challenges: Time—you have limited time on location, and any changes, such as shifting position or changing outfits, take time. Potential in the Location itself - what you see and what you can modify. This is a fantastic location, but it also has no light other than what we bring with us. Finding the balance between the amazing art on the walls and letting the lingerie art stand out. All three sets were taken just a few meters apart, shooting towards the same wall. But we tried to transform their mood/feeling. Using LED lights rather than traditional LED lights was absolutely key for us to be able to do this work and to work as quickly as we did. It is no secret that one of my drivers as a photographer is to understand colour and how to work with strong colours. This is the most complex and successful colour work I have done. A key part of making this work was the (hugely expensive but worth it) @kelvincinemalighting and their EPOS 300 lights in combination with the @nanlite_global Pavotubes - giving me enough power to change what the scene looked like. What inspired this lighting scheme, though, is the lingerie made by @karolinalaskowskalingerie with support from @royalblack_couture So, the lighting scheme is built around making the lingerie shine and expressing the feelings it gave me. The lingerie you see here is inspired by @giger_art , one of my favourite artists; with such inspiration also gives me the challenge of how to light and colour grade it. Three things made this look possible. One is the use of Kelvin`s fantastic EPOS 300 lights, which gave me all the power and flexibility I needed. Then there is the change of colour temperature in the camera, further pushed in the colour grade to give her this almost unreal skin. I very much wanted to give the colours the sort of feel I remember from Giger's artwork, much of which is black and white. But I did not want to make black and white photos. So selective desaturation was used to get the effect I wanted. The amazing lingerie is made by @royalblack_couture and @karolinalaskowskalingerie - more to come from this collection in the future. I had the chance to shoot the Danish larper @kathtitude recently, whom I met during Helicon. I wanted to take a classical portrait (B&W) and then one more playful, using smoke. In both cases, we are using a hard light modifier, which is a new tool in my tool kit, even if it is one of the most classic of all light modifiers, so classic that is even called "standard reflector". Makes for very sharp and precise lightfall off. Then behind her, there is another light aimed at her, just to give some more background separation. Shoot using the Sony A7R V, with a 100mm GM SFT lens. Two Godox AD200 flashes are used.
