Firehawk to the rescue!
Contour Helicopters, based in Langley, B.C., recently announced the arrival of their C-FHWK helicopter.
Once a Black Hawk, this impressive aircraft has been retrofitted with a 4500L belly tank, enabling it to deliver three times more water than the average bucket helicopter. Additionally, its advanced night vision cockpit allows wildfire support even after dark.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the prototype AS350 helicopter at the Aerospatiale factory in Marignane, France.

This is the first corporate Airbus ACH160 helicopter to be delivered in North America!
Canadian private aviation services provider, Chartright Air Group, took delivery of the aircraft last week, and will operate it for its owner and charter clients.

S.T.E.P. (Single-Skid, Toe-In, and Hover Exit/Entry Procedures) is essential for quickly responding to wildland fires and evacuating injured or incapacitated firefighters.
These procedures are especially useful in challenging terrain where the helicopter cannot fully place its skid tubes. S.T.E.P. enables more efficient and effective personnel insertion in difficult landing zones.
