The cafe is located in front of Samran Rat’s trendy Once Again Hostel, surrounded by large windows that allow beautiful sunlight to filter through.

Finally, we had the chance to enjoy a captivating stay at SHIROIYA HOTEL, which was transformed from the historic 300-year-old Japanese inn ‘Shiroiya’ located in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture. Renowned architect Sou Fujimoto renovated an old ryokan hotel building from the ‘70s, creating an atrium by removing the floors and exposing the rough concrete surface. In this space, his staircases interact with Leandro Erlich’s ‘Lighting Pipes,’ evoking the memory of water pipes that once ran through the old edifice.

High ceilings, shiny chandeliers, and cases filled with a lovely selection of books and yes they have a great english section as well.
We especially love children’ books section downstairs, the room is so cosy and the books are well curated! Super love!
