The fabric is a tartan from #verheestextiles and has just the littlest amount of stretch which makes wearing these trousers a delight. I made the pattern in a size 8 and only did a slight high hip adjustment. The rest of the fit was 👌🏻✨ Super happy with these trousers and I’m sure more will follow. This is just a quick and dirty way to make your puff sleeve into a balloon shaped sleeve. When making a pattern with puff sleeves add about 7cm to the desired length of the puff sleeve pattern piece. Fold 1cm seam allowance inwards and make a 3cm wide casing for 3cm wide elastic. When you have finished this, simply fold the bottom part of your sleeve inwards and your sleeve is ready. Make sure to use wide elastic, otherwise the elasticised casing will fold back. Lots of pictures of my new outfit made with beautiful fabrics from @verheestextiles When I saw the gorgeous floral double gauze I had to think about a Miu Miu look from a while back. Swipe to see 👉🏻 It became my inspiration for this look. The soft double gauze I used for the collar is embroidered and it felt only suitable to add some scallops. I used a pattern from @coffeeandthread and hacked the sleeves into the Hera sleeves with extra volume. I thought the extra volume would give the double gauze that fluffy look and it didn’t disappoint! Love how it turned out! For the pants I used one of their suiting check fabrics that came closest to my inspo pic and made the #blpbilly trousers from @bellalovespatterns . The fabric has just the slightest bit of stretch, so it wears extremely comfortably! So happy with the fit of the pants too. Well done Bella ❤️ Overall super happy with this new outfit and the top and pants will go great separately with other items in my wardrobe! Sleeveless #harrietblouse with ruffle in super romantic fabric from @verheestextiles I used the scalloped selfedge for the ruffle. Doesn’t it look cute? I’m a sucker for white eyelet fabric 🤍 The ruffle pattern version is still a work in progress… These sleeveless blouses are my absolute fave during springtime. You can easily put a jumper on top when it’s a chilly day, but when the sun comes out later that day you can take the jumper off and look very stylish 😁☀️ I’ll share a tutorial on how to make a shirt with sleeves sleeveless, without gaping armholes 🙌🏻 Have a lovely weekend! #harrietblouse #verheesfabrics #harrietruffleedition

#harrietblouse with ruffles 🌷 With amazing fabrics from @ansje.stoffen.naailessen I made the Harriet blouse and gave her ruffles at the cuffs and sleeve slits and around the collar and front panel. Swipe to see closeup’s 👉🏻 Just love how it turned out! I combined a Liberty striped fabric, soft pink piping and tulip fabric from #ansje ‘s collection. Together with Isabel from @_beletoile_ we are going to make this ruffle version into a pattern ad-on for the original Harriet blouse. You can expect the ad-on in the fall, but in the meantime check out my blog @bernina.benelux for an explanation on how to add the ruffle at the cuffs. I’ll link it in my stories. 🌷 a little note about the location 🌷 I get asked many times when posting pictures in the tulip fields if I’m being careful for the tulips and if it is allowed standing in those fields. Well the fields around are village are pretty big and when not fenced off you can access them freely. But living here has taught us to be very careful and not wander into the field too far. It looks like I’m standing in the middle of the field, but in reality I am standing on the edge or maybe 1 meter in, but always careful and we have never damaged a tulip in the process 🩷 Another tulip fact, the tulips on these fields are not the ones ending up in the flower shop. The field tulips are blooming for the very first time. They will be checked when growing if they are growing fine and the ones that are not will be plucked. The rest will be chopped after just a short blooming time so the all the energy of the plant won’t go to the flower, but back to the bulb and will make it even stronger. After more weeks the bulbs will be taken out of the ground again ready to be planted the year after in glasshouses with perfect conditions where they will bloom into tulips to be sold. Scrap ideas 💡 What to do with left over fabrics…? With the left overs from this gorgeous fabric from @fiberstofabric I made a drawstring bag to store my winter gloves and neck warmer that go with the coat I stored in my previous post 😁 With the rest of the fabrics I cut bias strips, sewed them together and made bias binding. I love using my scraps for bias binding and this light weight cotton fabric is perfect for finishing clothes on the inside with bias binding, because it doesn’t give a lot of bulk 👌🏻 #scrapbustingproject #fabricscraps

So once I got going with that bias binding foot on my machine I couldn’t stop 😅 I made 4 clothing covers with fabric I bought for my daughter when she was a lot younger. The idea was to make dresses for her, but she grew faster than I sewed, so she outgrew the fabrics.
