You all have always and mostly heard me play fast paced hypnotic & hardgroove. But HÖR Showcase was one for the books & I had to do something different for the audience. I had to go outside my comfort zone & curate a set which inspires my production and my DJ sets; Detroit House. The classic tunes with a touch of modern hypnotism, full of hats, snares & percussive rhythms with 808 patterns & basslines. I had to make it jumpy but as an opening act I had to be mindful of the energy for the following artists, which everyone knows I love setting the vibe for the night.
We live in a generation of DJs where closing acts are so hyped up and so important, but as DVS1 says the opening act is the setting stone, the foundation of any festival, any gig. I had the best time ever in months and as much as I enjoy going hard, I also enjoy playing it smooth & sweet with happy faces around.
Still finding it hard to get over this experience of playing
