What to expect during a pelvic floor physical therapy initial evaluation!! ⬇️
✨So many people have no clue what to expect when starting pelvic floor therapy
✨We ALWAYS start by talking about what it is you are coming in for!
✨Then we assess the area around the pelvic floor externally. This includes hip strength, hip range of motion, low back range of motion, diastasis recti check, scar mobility, and more.
✨Then, if the patient is comfortable with it, we do the internal exam next. This is all done with ONE FINGER ONLY and assessing for pelvic floor muscle tone (tight or lax), pelvic floor muscle strength (kegel), and we can also assess for prolapse.
✨The final step is to go over all the findings from the internal and external exams and make a plan going forward to solve the problems you are having for the long-term 💪

Ran a 4 mile race with my best friend! This is the longest race both of us have ever done and neither of us are fast but we crushed it! Swipe to see how I looked when I finished. Happy Memorial Day!
