Titled “Joy, period” the collection showed colorful gowns, sequined dresses, and bikinis that played with proportion. “We use fashion to embrace bold and courageous self-expression to articulate and showcase our inner selves,” Jacobs said in the show notes. There’s a new leading man at @lanvin . Today the 135-year-old French fashion house announced the appointment of British designer Peter Copping as artistic director for menswear and womenswear.
Copping, a graduate of Central Saint Martins and The Royal College of Art, cut his teeth at Sonia Rykiel before spending over a decade as a number two to Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton. The designer then became the creative director of Nina Ricci and, later, Oscar de la Renta, a position that he was given by Mr. de la Renta himself. Read more about it at the link in bio. Thoughts?
Tonight in Paris, @nicolas.difelice , artistic director of Courrèges, took a turn as the guest couturier of @jeanpaulgaultier haute couture, ending the week on a high note. His vision? An homage to the shapes and silhouettes that Gaultier pioneered including hook and eye corsets and gowns in various states of undress. What do you think of the collection?
