“What if?” 👇🏼 “What if something happens to the car? Where will I camp? What if I get lost and don’t have service? What if something bad happens or I get hurt?” I had a lot of anxiety leading up to my recent solo trip.. Actually, I have anxiety before every adventure. But I don’t let fears hold me back!!! ✨ I prepare for what I’m scared of ✨ For example: 🗺️ I DID RESEARCH I made a Google doc, looked at maps, wrote a packing checklist, researched campsites and hikes, planned a menu, etc. 🚙 PREPPED THE CAR I made sure my car was ready for the drive. I got an oil change and changed a dead break light. ⛺️ PLANNED WHAT I COULD Camping on free BLM land can be hit or miss so to give myself peace of mind, I booked a campsite through Hipcamp. I ended up having a gorgeous site all to myself! 📲 SHARED MY LOCATION I shared my itinerary/route/locations with my husband + the friend I was meeting. 👿 AND CARRIED PROTECTION Bear spray, pepper spray, a kn1fe and my bottomless female rage. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 I prepared for what I was scared of… and I HAD AN AMAZING TRIP! 🙏🏼 Do you have adventure anxiety? SAD GIRL SUMMER ☀️ I get seasonal depression in the summer and it’s already 100°F+ here in Phoenix 🌵🥵 I’m working through some things in therapy and decided I’m going to have a Sad Girl Summer. I want to slow down, disconnect, and feel my feelings. I want to do everything I loved as a kid: 📖 Reading 🚲 late-night bike rides ☀️ sunbathing 🗺️ scrapbooking 🎞️ watching movies 🍦eating ice cream 🌈 wearing fun colors ⛱️ going on adventures Yes, I’ll be doing all of this while crying, but it’s a big step in my healing journey. 🥲💕 Anyone else having a Sad Girl Summer?? #mentalhealth #healingjourney #lifeoutdoors
