Circa Summer 2021 video found in the archives. 😂 This was a video recorded for the @chevronhoustonmarathon IG Story Takeover Day, one of my favorite days to record a “Day in the Life of a Full Time Run Coach”. Kinda cute, won’t delete later. 😂 Let’s get to it: I LOVE HELPING PEOPLE and I LOVE RUNNING, why not be a coach!?! It seemed clear as day to me once I saw the light. 😆 To give others the experience of ⚡️creating habits ⚡️ finding consistency ⚡️building confidence ⚡️discovering the running flow ⚡️ Knowing they can do anything they set their mind to ⚡️Witnessing the excitement when nailing a process goal, a workout, or ran the race of their life … All of this good can and does seep into their families, co-workers, friends and community. A domino effect I want to be part of! 🙌 Elevate’s tag line is ELEVATE YOUR RUNNING … MIND AND SOUL. The side of coaching that I didn’t anticipate is HOW MUCH of the human side there is to coaching. Everyday. We are humans everyday, so this tracks. ✨ My mission is for every elevate athlete to feel seen and heard. To share life moments. To allow me inside their personal world to understand them more as a human and a runner. When you have that support, someone in your corner telling you everyday that “you can”, what happens? THEY DO IT. They crush the workout. They build consistency. They shine confidence. And, build on it. And, build on it. Each training cycle a little bit more from the previous one. It’s the piece that keeps me going on the tough days (we ALL have them). It’s the piece that keeps us all going. Grateful I get to do “this” everyday. 5 years ago, I climbed a series of BIG, TALL, STEEP mountains imaginable, all to my own doing. 😂 I climbed the mountains 🏔️ Got uncomfortable 🥴 Found growth 🙏 And … Ignited a spark, a change and a sense of what I was capable of achieving in my life. 🦋 This week is always a special week for me. It’s a week to remind myself (and to anyone who will listen) to quit the job, go the run camp, take a second trip, climb the (side of a) mountain and find a part of you that exists deep down. Or, your version of that sequence. Discover what lights you up inside. Say “No”, to leave space for the “Yes”. Go after your dreams, one big or small step at a time. Make moves. June 🫶 Grateful ending June feeling lighter - figuratively and literally (I’m a blonde 😆). Not pictured, seeing my sister for 36 hours, which I loved and needed 🥹❤️ 1) Kenzie being a good girl and getting a bagel dog bone 🐶 🦴 🥯 on a long weekend in @visitcrestedbutte 😹 2) full cup kinda runs are back with new momma @lazydogrunning 3) twinning at @elevateyourrunning practice with @daniellefnicole 🫶👯 4) a huge smile kinda trail long run in @travelcrestedbutte 5) Three weeks into an eight week series to uplevel as a human and a coach with @drlarapence ! I like to call our sessions a POWER HOUR! 6) Running with friends 🥹 I’ve crush three Wednesday workouts chasing these gals + in warmer temps (wait for it or scroll to #9 ) 7) making time for hobbies outside of running 🙏 #entrepreneurlife 8) super fun and tough morning @transformcolorado and elevate + friends! We climbed for 30 mins, after running 🥴💪 9) DNF’d my first track workout this week 😂 The higher you raise, the harder you fall. 🥲 running is wild. 10) a butterfly 🦋 found in the mountains, always a top symbol for growth + transformation. Would you rather … 👀 👏 Run on roads 🚸 Run on trails 🏔️ Or a mixture of both? I am a road runner, hands down. I love finding a good flow, hitting pace / effort and don’t get me started on those long run marathon tempo workouts 😍 (I’ll save it for another post 😹). I have a lot of city sidewalk casualties however! 🥲 AND I find when I’m on less technical, more rolling dirt trails, I have the biggest smile on my face for the entire run! I’m more relaxed throughout the run too, making it feel easier and I feel stronger. So, both can be true. 😆 I’d love to hear your favorite type of running and why! Road Runner in the Wild! 😜 This weekend was a great reminder that I love what I do, I love running and all the lessons we learn from it to be a stronger athlete and human. ❤️ Big shoutout to @nell_rojas_running for the last two years of training. I felt unstoppable at 9,000 feet (okay, expect for those 90 sec hill repeats 😆 💨 😮‍💨) and logged over 35 miles in hiking and running over three days. Felt like I could have kept going all while rocking the biggest smile all weekend. 😀 Running + movement is a gift. Time fixes all, or fixes it to the best of its ability. If you’re in a place with your training (or career, life, friendships, relationships) and it’s not where you want it to be … it’s okay. 1 - you’re human 2 - if you give it enough time, you find your way out of it into brighter days! Three months ago, my running started to fall apart due to too much long term stress, my parasympathetic nervous system was in shambles. The workout felt hard, I was 20-30 seconds off pace and this was the start of some really crappy training for me ~ 6 weeks. I’m grateful it wasn’t any longer. 🙏 This weekend, I returned to the same loop from this spring. I ran a strong and steady workout, felt comfortable and smooth. YES!! A big win and such a difference from the last time I was there. Let this be a reminder that every season is just that, a season you’ll flow through. 👏 Bonus: There is a (always 😆) a lesson to be learned in the process. The training runs are long, but the training cycle is short! It feels like summer just began, but your fall race is right around the corner. 😍 We are just shy of 18 weeks away from the Chicago Marathon Weekend on October 13th! 👏 @boulderthon will be here in 16 weeks!! 😭 If you’re running the Chicago Marathon, Boulderthon or another Fall race … you’ll want to add these THREE things to your training now for a strong race day. 💪 1️⃣ Begin to add strides to your run twice a week, or a mini weekly workout if you’re not doing that already. - These speedier session will allow your body to begin to digest quicker paces and faster leg turnover. 2️⃣ Build the long run! - Assess where your long run is and begin to build on it so when you officially start training, you feel capable and strong running the distance. 3️⃣ Mantra + Visualization - What is your specific mantra for this race? - What do yo want to create? - What process goals do you want to dial in? - What outcome goals are you searching for? - Write it all down and visualize what you want to create on each training run, even for a few minutes can create an abundance of magic on race day. 📣 If you’re running a Fall Marathon or Half Marathon and looking to partner with a coach, comment RUNNER, and we’ll send you more information on our 1:1 Coaching Plans! ✨ #runcoach #denverrunning #runningboulder #chicagomarathon #marathoner #elevateyourrunning #newyorkcitymarathon #majormarathons #runindy #runhou #runcim #nikerunning #boulderthon
