I’ve always found the airport to be a place where unexpectedly stylish moments abound. Especially with crew members. For
@airfrance , it’s more than coincidence—fashion is one of the airline’s five pillars.
Since the ‘50s the company has turned to French companies to design its uniforms and the list of collaborators reads as a who’s who of French fashion: Marc Bohan at Dior as part of the maison’s haute couture collection in 1962; Cristobal Balenciaga in the late ‘60s and ‘70s; followed by Jean Patou, Carven, Nina Ricci and Grès. Today’s uniforms are designed by Christian Lacroix, with the couturier examining the idea of French elegance.
Personally, it’s the details that stand out to me, but I suppose that shouldn’t come as a surprise. Flying in elegance is a great way to start my fashion weeks and I’m once again thankful to
